WOW

For those of you who don’t know, the red dot means SOLD.

So i was strolling around Cape Town CBD yesterday doing a bit of gallery hopping when i came across something that completely blew my mind. A friend of mine and fellow artist by the name of Khaya Sineyile’s is having a show titled Rewind at the AVA gallery on Church Street near Green Market Square.

Khaya is a Cape Town based painter who tried his hand at a deiscipline outside of his preferred medium, and that bit of experimentation and risk taking it would seem paid off. The exhibit is made up mostly of paintings by Khaya and then there’s the Spaar Box installation which caught the eye of one daring and wealthy benefactor, and that’s puting it lightly.

Unfortunately i was so taken a back by the sale that i didn’t snap the work itself but then that gives you more of a reason to stop around at the AVA gallery and have look for yourself.

And who said Cape Town isn’t a buyers market?
