Youth Weekend

And we all know what that means. Party!!!!

In celebration of the 1976 Soweto uprising. Every patriotic South African is ordered to get sloshed and have a good time celebrating the freedoms that were fought for by those before us.

Not to leave out those planning to stay indoors, there will be tons of sporting action to feast your eyes on. Read More…

Weekend Delights

It’s been wet wet wet! I’m sure all of you in Cape Town must be tired of being indoors, so the weekend is here and it’s time to get out there. Our usual weekly guide so bode well. We like to keep it local but that doesn’t mean we skimp on stuff outside our jurisdiction, maybe one day we will have you telling us where to go. I’m holding thumbs.

The Halfway Weekend Guide

Thats right, we’ve almost reached the halfway point in the year. Another wonderful weekend awaits us and with all honesty I think it’s deserved. We picked out a few nice ways to kick back and relax; alternatively we’ve also found some crazier escapades to indulge yourselves in.

Pink Bulls vs The Stormers

I’m not going to beat around the bush. This is a big clash!! South Africa’s traditional North-South Derby takes place on Saturday with all to play for. Expect to see pink tops accompanied by big hits. Only in SA, only in Rugby! We predict a tight game but should be won by the boys in blue. Hope the girls in pink don’t have a problem with that!

Ps. Wait for after the game to view the Springbok team announcement live!

The Wet Weekend Guide

Another wet Weekend greets us. And by the time you get to reading this, I’m sure your toes will be freezing! Don’t panic, below we have a list of activities for the weekend both indoors and out. Enjoy!

Super Rugby

Stormers vs Waratahs @ Newlands

Saturday 19 May 2012 @ 19:10

Expect a wet game, therefore more than likely lacking tries and lots of close play within the forwards. The Stormers really have to pick up their game to realistically push for the crown that has eluded them for so many years. Watch with intent at home or be a crazy supporter and make your way down to the stadium. We’re predicting a tight win by the boys in Blue.

Champions League Final:

Bayern Munich vs Chelsea

Saturday 19 May 2012 @ 20:00

The culmination of an epic Champions League season will see new champions crowned on Saturday Night. With Home field advantage to the German’s you’ll expect Bayern Munich to rein victorious but stranger things have happened. Chelsea in with a chance we say. Hope you have your shit in HD baby!

Bioscope Hip Hop Film Festival
This Saturday is hip hop and history enthusiasts’ last chance to catch this inspiring movie festival, hosted by the historical District Six Museum. With the weather being crazy as usual in the Cape. My suggestion for all would be to snuggle up with a hottie and keep warm. Watch the sport and get drunk celebrating.

5.       English Premier League

For those that cant get enough of the Barclays Premiership. The Final day of the English elite competition takes place on Sunday. There will be tons of matches all happening at the same time. Whether your rooting for Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal, eagerly viewing the relegation battle or hopeless with Liverpool this is a must see. Full list of fixtures below:

All Games on Sunday:

Chelsea v Blackburn Stamford Bridge 16:00
Everton v Newcastle Goodison Park 16:00
Man City v QPR Etihad Stadium 16:00
Norwich v Aston Villa Carrow Road 16:00
Tottenham v Fulham White Hart Lane 16:00
Stoke v Bolton Britannia Stadium 16:00
Sunderland v Man Utd Stadium of Light 16:00
West Brom v Arsenal The Hawthorns 16:00
Swansea v Liverpool Liberty Stadium 16:00
Wigan v Wolverhampton The DW Stadium 16:00

To be honest with you, not much is happening as far as I’m aware of this weekend but I hope the above list could give you some ideas. The weather and the fact it being the 3rd weekend since payday I don’t think many people stand with that cash anyway. So have a braai, chill with some red wine or go bos watching the Stormers mangle the Cheetahs on Saturday. Routine would have it that a casual club experience would suffice as well. Be a bookworm and visit Franschoek Literary festival if that’s your thing, most of all enjoy your time away from work.

Not Another Weekend

It’s that time again. The freaking weekend! After the rain has passed, let’s hope we hit that rainbow! And after such a long weekend spending all your money we hope you still have some bucks left to enjoy the festivities. The weather is looking terrible to say the least, but what better way to keep warm than a night out on the town drinking and dancing. We are social beings after all.

The weekend’s action. Be there!
