GSP is scared of Silva
UFC welterweight champion Georges “Rush” St. Pierre is the most dominant welterweight in UFC history, period. Unbeaten since 2006, GSP has without a shadow of a doubt in anyone’s
mind been clearing up the welterweight division. Many fans have been calling for a super fight between him and middleweight champion Anderson “The Spider” Silva who has been doing the same in his division.
But whenever GSP has been asked about this potential matchup he has always ducked the questions or come up with excuses as to why the fight couldn’t happen. Excuses such as he would need 6 months just to put on the weight and Silva is a much bigger man than him so he would have to drop down in weight. But Georges walks around at 190lbs/86.18kg anyways, for him to just cut down 5lbs/2.5kg instead of his regular routine sounds like hes getting a better deal than Silva who would have to drop even more weight to meet GSP at a catchweight of 180lbs/90kgs.
Dana White has already stated that if GSP retains his title against Condit this November then he would most probably be facing Silva, but we all know that thats not going to happen. Firstly because Dana has been singing this same song for almost 2 years now and nothings happened, second Georges would never accept the fight with Silva because he fears the skills that Silva possesses so he will keep making excuse after excuse to avoid that match.
