Football Update: 1 August 2012
Another week in the football world. Balling has never been so cool. Even though we’re seeing Europe almost crumble under massive debt these clubs just don’t stop. Life must be just peachy in the football world. Or at least for a few clubs like Man City, Chelsea and PSG comes to mind.
But the reason we’re here for, Gossip of the highest order. Most clubs kicked off pre season training in Asia, Africa and North America. Hopefully those won’t be the final teams you see out there currently, it doesn’t look that way.
News of relevance to most would be South African Steven Pienaar resigning with Everton yesterday in a £4.5 Million deal. It comes at great relief to all South Africans to see Pienaar back at a club where his heart lies. Check out @therealstevenpi
More on RVP – Thierry Henry the Gunners’ striking legend is keen for the Dutch forward to stay at the Emirates but believes the club are capable of enjoying success even if the 28-year-old moves on
Another ‘want away’ Luka Modric is set to hold talks with Senior officials at Spurs to try and resolve the aspect of him leaving the club. Apparently Spurs are demanding a price of 51million Euro for the Croat.
Apparently QPR are keen on Berbatov. But no word is coming from Manager Mark Hughes. Personally I think this will be a great buy for player and club. Let’s hope they get a move on, rumoured £5 Million is well worth it.
As stubborn as they come? Liverpool’s Andy Carroll has apparently turned down a chance t resurrect his career at West Ham. But it doesn’t seem like the hammers are backing down. Stories of a 8 year £90000 a week deal. Even his working class brain could seriously turn that down…could he?
And the Rest…
