Le Clos set to hit top three in finals…
The South African swimmers have seen to hit their straps at the London Olympics and SA hero Cameron Van Der Burgh‘s gold medal and world record breaking performance seemed to inspire our young aquatic hopefuls. Youngster Chad Le Clos qualified for the finals (tonight on Supersport at nine) of the men’s 200m butterfly with a time of 1:54.34 last night before Gideon Louw produced a valiant attempt to come in 2nd in heat 6 of 100 m freestyle with a time of 48.29, thus taking him through to the semi’s of this discipline.
In other codes, our hockey girls take on NZ today at 12.45 SA time, following their 6-0 defeat to the Aussies they will be keen on getting their campaign back on track as soon as possible.
Team SA still only have gold medal to show that being the one of Cameron Van Der Burgh.
We lie 14th place on the medal standings with China leading the pack.
