EFC Africa 15 Main Fight Card

The event that will determine a EFC Light Heavyweight champ

On July 27th at Carnival City the vacant EFC Light heavyweight title will be up for grabs as  Norman “Chef” Wessels (5-2) and JP “The Pitbull” Joubert (3-2) duke it out to determine the undisputed champion.

Wessels (32) is fighting out of Sunninghill, Johannesburg and he is trained by Richard Quan from the FightFit Militia Gym. His fighting style is a combination of Muay Thai, Wrestling and Brazilian Jiujitsu.

Joubert (31) is from Constantia, Johannesburg and trains with Gavin Devilliers at  West Rand Fight Club and Team Mayhem. He has a background in Kickboxing and nothing else it seems, so expect him to avoid the take down and keep this fight standing.

Wessels in my opinion should take this one, he has way more tools in his arsenal and in the modern day MMA game you have to be prepared to go to the ground or at least be able to defend when it gets there. Joubert has no ground credentials and a kickboxer’s worst nightmare is being on their back.

The co-main event is a middleweight fight between Garreth ‘Soldier Boy’ McLellan and Armand de Bruyn.

The main event will be broadcast live on e-tv from 22:30 July 27th and at Nu-Metro cinemas
