Cape Cops busts Nigerian Pimp
The girl was rescued by the Unit last month from the Parksig Villas complex, situated in Bellville where she was forced to use drugs and perform sexual activities with clients. The 39 year-old accused was arrested in Bellville and detained at Bellville SAPS. He was charged for kidnapping and will be appearing in the Bellville Magistrates Court tomorrow.
The young girl is being kept in a place of safety pending the outcome of the case. She is also currently in a rehabilitation programme to assist her through the trauma.
“The Vice Squad will continue to prioritize these types of serious crimes and assist those women who require the necessary help to get out of the sex trade. Communities are urged to be vigilant and report any brothels and prostitution taking place in their neighbourhoods. Residents are encouraged to let the authorities know whenever they suspect something illegal might be going on,” said Richard Bosman, Executive Director for Safety and Security, City of Cape Town.
The case has now been handed over to the Hawks (human trafficking task team) for further investigation.
