Cell C causes stir

Alan Knott-Craig has really begun to shake things up in the South African Telecommunications industry.

The former head of Vodacom has been instrumental bring new innovative packages to the market. And why not? For years we as consumer have been bearing the brunt of ineffective pricing and just plain greedy corporate, that maybe about to change…a little.

Not too long ago, Cell C broke through with a prepaid offer matched by none, read 99c deal. You know, the one promoted with the guy that looks like a Didier Drogba wannabe shown everywhere.

Today, Cell C announced its proposed new Contract Deals that should make MTN and Vodacom shake in their boots. Consumers should be left smiling at the prospect of cheaper packaged deals and the potential of an (infamous) price war that could forever change the game.

None of the traditional heavyweights have responded as yet to the threat that is Cell C. Vodacom tried to when the last shock was announced but fail dismally. I believe if Cell C’s operational effectiveness is as sound as there marketing activity, we as consumers will have o wait a long time before we start wiping this smile off our faces.

See below pricelist, effective later this month
