The roller coaster does not stop for Nick Diaz

Wow! Nick Diaz has been having things spiral totally out of control for him these past few months. First not pitching to press conferences to face welterweight champ Georges St. Pierre, then losing his opportunity for the championship, then losing a very very razor close decision to Carlos Condit for the interim championship at UFC 143, then testing positive for Marijuana Metabolites in his system during the Condit fight and now facing a possible one year suspension from the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

Diaz who smokes weed legally in California had been caught with a trace of it in his blood in Vegas when he fought Condit making it illegal and, weirdly enough, for some reason they’re ruling marijuana as a performance enhancement drug?? Anyways, Judge Rob Bare denied the injunction which was an attempt to get the suspension for Diaz lifted and is now going to go ahead and rule on Monday.

Also, its been announced from the Gracie Count that a possible rematch of the “superfight” that was meant to be with Braulio Estima might be in the making.  Gracie said that he would love to see the match up happen but didn’t want to expose his fighter right now because he has his hands full with the case.

“Right now, Nick is dealing with all this NSAC stuff, and it’s like they’re coming at him double-barreled, because he had the audacity to challenge them in court and everything, and say, ‘get a lawyer,” he said. “And they’re not used to doing that, so they’re coming at this guy crazy. We’ve got to deal with that stuff, make sure his head is right and everything. But I would love to see it. I’m sure he’d do it in the future, but it wouldn’t involve Junior.”

Junior being the “dodgy” promoter who had setup the super fight but caused a ton of confusion about the weigh ins which caused Diaz to leave the event without notifying anyone.
