Sir Alex Ferguson warns Manchester City ‘Watch out, Manchester United will be back stronger next season’
Following an epic EPL finale yesterday, which soon saw City being crowned the Champions (and deservedly so) for the first time since 1968, Sir Alex Ferguson shared his congrats with the club across the street from Fort Old Trafford in a bid to commend them on their achievements thus season.
“I’ll be fine next season,” he said. “We’re not going away and I’m not either. You better let them know across the road. We will back stronger next season…” said Ferguson.
For ambitious City, their title victory has given them ascendancy in Manchester — for at least one season, and this challenge has only motivated Ferguson to further his record titles to 13 next year!.
The 70-year-old said that City’s rise had given him motivation to keep going and the general confirmed that he still has the desire to face a new challenge!
“Definitely, absolutely. It’s taken three years off me and I’m feeling younger already, so City can prepare themselves for a massive fight come next year!” he said!
“They are 100 years behind us, so they’ve got a lot of catching up to do, and as they improve, so will we next year. We let this one slip, through our own doing so its not beyond our reach, we lost the title because we gave it away.”
Referring to reclaiming championship status over the years, Ferguson added that his club known for titles!
“We’ve done that well (reclaiming titles) over the years and we’ll just do exactly the same. It’s not a club that’s afraid of that. We’ve always been able to accept that and it’s a challenge for me too. I don’t mind a challenge.”
